Tsunade and the female jinchuuriki had great potential to make up for pre-shippuden and Kishimoto just ended up throwing that riiiight at the trash. It’s why I hate the Akatsuki so much. People were too busy fangirling over them to notice the bullshit Kishimoto was pulling right out the deepest recesses of his ass. I knew it was going to come to this as soon as Yugito died,  years ago. I’m not even kidding when I say that women just depend on men. They do; they aren’t characters by themselves. Sakura as a character entirely depends on Sasuke and Naruto. Hinata as a character entirely depends on Naruto. Ino is nothing but shallow - flirting with Sai simply because he sort of looked like Sasuke. Tenten… is Tenten. Tsunade’s motivations didn’t stem from herself or from female figures, it all stemmed from her brother and her boyfriend. Even Temari, who was the closest Kishimoto got to a take-no-shit female character was sidelined by Kankuro and Gaara’s bromance. I mean, FUCK. One piece is still lacking, but hey, look at that. Women are accessories in manga. :/

One Piece vs. Naruto: Women

Naruto is RIDICULOUSLY sexist.

It’s absurd. There are literally ZERO strong women characters in over 12 years of manga.
